Sign language is taking hold with Holmes, though we all know he easily could have packed in a few more doughnuts:)
We visited the great pumpkin patch of Ken’s Market up the street for our jack-o-lantern to be, and a coveted fall picture with the kiddos. Check!
And after all this quality family time, I was the only one who wanted to eat pumpkin muffins hot out of the oven:) More for me!

After a long work week and three days in Cincinnati for my Smithsonian Board meeting (thank you, Frank, Lola, and Tito!), Meryl and I decided we needed hot chocolate and bakery treats to kick off the drizzly weekend.
They woke up early (for them)! And Frank outdid himself with Shakshouka and homemade breakfast sausage:)
Laurel knows how to galvanize a crowd, bring tri-levels! Meryl’s first taste…and she went back for more, and more, and who knows how many more:)
