Positive blip

Welp, due to a known COVID exposure after our return, we tested on Monday before school and Meryl’s results were positive. No symptoms. (The rest of us were negative.) We kept both kids home that day to figure out a plan. Again, I attempted a project with the kids and through deep breaths we achieved homemade Oreos that were actually very good!

Seeing teeth

Positivity was a blip as she tested negative the next day…and, lost a tooth! (Though she still had to stay home from school for the entire week, following CDC guidelines.)

Out of the house

By the time Thursday came around, and after days of negative test results, we masked up and headed to the Pacific Science Center. What a gift it was to visit when few people were there!

We went back

While at the Pacific Science Center, we realized that the Jane Goodall documentary was showing at the IMAX theater…so we went back on Friday and literally got the entire theater to ourselves. Plus, we got to explore the museum and butterfly room again as a bonus.

Fencing

Fencing! The CDC also changed their rules on Friday (a week late from our perspective), and this gave us more confidence in attending Meryl’s first fencing class! We know absolutely nothing about the sport…and we’re excited to learn. Meryl is loving it especially (she’s in the pink pants).

On piste

Little brother sighting! Holmes tested out his speed on the piste, which is the metal runway-type strip that serves as the playing area for a fencing match. Learning!
