Mary Poppins

YES! We took it easy today to hopefully knock our colds and promised the kids a movie tonight before dinner. And when Meryl asked to watch Mary Poppins, I literally jumped up and thought it was just the spoon full of sugar we all needed:) And cheeseburger pasta. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Back at it

We took advantage of one of the last good weather nights to grill and eat outside. Meryl’s pizza (play) dough was never cooked in favor of an end of week kneading need:) Holmes’ dough barely made it to the grill.

Another sick day

Negative COVID test results aside, shouldering a cold is its own test of self-care (ahem, looking the part of responsible parents when your kid is coughing in the car on the way to school).

Pizza, pizza

We invited ourselves over to Kristi, Erin, and Hazel’s to make pizza in their new pizza oven. Pretty cool! It started out as a faux play dough party and ended up as pizza…to which everyone’s was cooked, except some of Holmes’ pizza:) He does love a not-so-secret snack.

$10M

What would you do with ten-million dollars? (The archbishop in Extra Yarn bought a magic box of yarn - spoiler, it lost its magic in his hands.) Well, Meryl would buy an owl (to watch out for her and tell her what’s going on in the world) and a cat (good luck, sister). Holmes would buy a ghost. Us parental units? Various forms of vacations. Getting out much these days? Nope. But we (99.99% Frank) are now much better cooks than we want to be. Lummi? She’s already won the lottery:)

Tether ball

Only, Holmes’ version of the game is to toss the ball as hard as he can and then run away from it as it swings around the pole:) Over and over again!

This kid

He is all comedy. And, he’s moved from humoring us through blowing raspberries to surprise sucking on toes. All the giggles, from a two-year old. (Soon to be three-year old.) We’re in for it.

Royalty

Frozen continues! Frank found Meryl the perfect crown (we’ve been searching) as it was the final piece to her Elsa outfit. The whole shabang is actually worn quite often:)

“Let It Go”

And with the complete outfit, Meryl gave us the performance of her lifetime! She sang the song and threw her glove and stomped her foot like Elsa too! (Text me if you want to see the video, it’s pretty great.)
