The Frozen obsession continues. All Elsa all the time to be specific. Meryl wears blue everything and is growing out her hair so that she can braid it like Elsa’s hair. Humorously, Grandpa proved to be the last person on the planet who hasn’t heard of Frozen…and when he asked Meryl to tell him what Anna and Elsa do in the movie, Holmes blurted out, “singing!” Yep, we can’t ‘Let It Go.’
I think everything fell on the floor and we could have made several batches otherwise. But! We made cookies. It’s a combat sport, obstacle course, and a stress test all wrapped into one bowl of chocolate chip happiness.
Though, somehow they became Mom and Dad horses while crawling into the kitchen. Talk about a growth spurt!
After a long period of contemplating the jump, she did it! Multiple times. And then she asked me to jump. I did. And then we got busted by the lifeguard we see every week (oops!), because we caused a scene and hadn’t properly learned how to jump off the block yet:) Sally’s on vacation right now and you better believe we have a lesson to learn when she gets back in the pool!
We have two more weeks of Family Swim until lessons resume…wish us luck with the diving block right there in plain sight:)
These kids keep climbing higher and higher right in front of our eyes. It’s amazing to see the confidence boost that happens merely weeks a part…growth boost too:)
Listening to Frozen with the speaker in her lap ended up not being the acoustic experience she really needed. Boom box style, yo!
We’re all mesmerized. Holmes couldn’t stop eating broccoli (whole stems and all, what?), and Meryl set up her own personal Frozen concert, sitting with the speaker on her lap, breaking now and then for a buoy swing moment.
Holmes negotiated with Meryl to eat her broccoli in exchange for giving her his corn on the cobb. I think we can all agree that tonight will never happen again, but it happened! Wish us luck for when that ‘broccoli belly’ decides to ‘Let It Go.’
