Happy Father's Day
Today, we had such a quintessential Seattle day, it's almost unbelievable. We started off at Coyle's bakery, a favorite of Frank's, mostly for their chocolate cake, which he had for breakfast. After Meryl's morning nap, we headed to Dick's for Frank's favorite burger. While in lower Queen Anne, we stopped by La Marzocco to pick up some coffee beans as they rotate roasters monthly (I recently got a new espresso machine and am obsessed with trying different beans). The coffee shop is inside KEXP's gathering space (a local radio station), where they host concerts. Today, they were hosting a Father's Day Dance Party with a DJ and added entertainment by a local pizzeria, Pagliacci's, which provided pizza dough for kids to throw around (genius!). We then skipped off to the Ballard Farmers Market, where we stumbled upon our neighbor kid, Sadie, busking with her guitar and playlist of songs. Staying in theme, we supported a curbside poet, who wrote Meryl her very own poem. Upon coming home, we picked up another neighbor kid's flyer on our doorstep for all manner of dog services, and are wondering who will have more fun in the bath, Lummi or Amelia:) Everyone then got an afternoon nap too! What a day! All to be topped off with a kale salad for dinner, picked fresh from Lola's garden.
