We’re now lacto-fermenters

Bring on the probiotics! We’ll see how it tastes in five-ish days. Tomorrow’s project is to blanch, squeeze, and freeze Lola’s garden of kale into little balls for soups and sautees in the winter. Urban homesteading here we come.

Neighborhood sweep

Meryl was inspired by Scott sweeping leaves across the street and decided to sweep our sidewalk too. We’re now hoping that Scott starts a YouTube series with videos like making the bed and putting dishes in the dishwasher:)

Canlis piano with Kelsey

Our favorite! What fun it is for her to talk to Meryl and play her requested song. We may have also told Meryl that Kelsey wrote back in the chat that she hopes Meryl eats her meat and vegetables tonight:)

Commodore Park

We explored a new nearby park this morning! Utterly cool on the canal at the Ballard Locks, salmon fish ladder, and train bridge. And we saw it alllll happening, and even watched a sea lion eat salmon in the water. Just keep swimming, salmon!
