This girl. She turns four next week and it’s unbelievable what words come out of her mouth, and what doesn’t. Her standard response these days is, “yep.” We are, of course, of no influence:)

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate Lummi:) Meryl’s haircutting salon opened this week, and she and her assistant, Holmes, extended their services to Lummi today. She could not be a more patient dog with these two. (Though, she’d love them more if they opened a restaurant just for her.)
Kohlrabi in our CSA box this week! And while ‘we’ enjoyed the slaw we made from it today, no amount of marketing this vegetable made it anywhere palatable for the kids. Day by day.
(And lounging low.)
Cereal milk!
We were recently reminded that moments from our house is a fantastic place with piles of dirt and rocks, and diggers and dump trucks. Even better, we can park out front to watch the scene and waive to the drivers! (They love this, of course.) We will be back, again and again.
Life in the bassinet continues! Meryl was training Bunny to sleep in a bed, the important work of someone who is nocturnal. Fast forward to this morning when we were pontificating where the neighborhood pink milkshake truck might be resting…and Meryl pontificated that it could be ‘nocturnal’ like a bat and owl. Mind blown. She also stated that she too is nocturnal, given all the things she does in her room at night. Flexing vocabulary like a boss.
When you see chicharrones, and discover they’re for dogs and not humans.
We all scream for ice cream! My spontaneous thought to go out for ice cream on a hot day didn’t factor in not being able to sit inside the shop or walk somewhere before it melted. So, we dripped all over the place in the trunk! Ice cream tastes good anywhere, really.
(So are Meryl’s pajamas.)
Well, reading the same books over and over (their choice) does have its benefits…Meryl remembered every word to one of Holmes’ favorite books and read it to him this morning!
He’s now ready for one single deep puddle.
Yep! Out from the depths of the garage arose my old Polaroid camera. It’s magic!
